Clever Pockets

I saw this dress on eBay many months ago. As the price tag neared $100, I could no longer justify taking the plunge with a bid. If I could guarantee a perfect fit to my body, maybe I could have rationalized the purchase. I made sure to save the image and soon began thinking about clever pocket design. After all, the flower pot on this dress looks to be made of simple felt. The process also reminds me of a designer whose pillows were recently featured on one of the big design blogs. I can't remember which one... maybe NOTCOT. The composition on her pillows is what really takes the cake.

I hope to experiment with this process soon, eventually making some of my own clever pockets. While adding figures (animal or human) to your garment can possibly push it into a territory best described as "over the top," the above examples make a statement without screaming for attention.
